Our History
A Family Company From Its Inception
Mako Builders, Inc. was founded in 1975 by Louis J. Kastelberg, brother of our president, William F. Kastelberg, IV, (Rick). Louis served the company for a quarter century, until 2000. After playing an early role as a silent partner, Rick came on board full-time in 1977. Rick’s son, William F. Kastelberg, V (Bill), joined Mako Builders, Inc. as vice president in 2006, and served the company with thoughtfulness and skill until his passing in 2022.
Our team of project managers and artisans form a close family as well, as many have been with us for decades. We work with integrity and respect for each other and our clients, which results in long-term relationships that we value tremendously.
Some call it a marriage.
